Larry Mitchell - Artist - Seascape Paintings

Western Australian Artist Larry Mitchell’s paintings leave people in rapture. He has a renowned ability to create beautiful seascape paintings that make viewers feel as if they could dive into the waters of his Australian Abrolhos Island series or simply gasp at the majesty of the Kimberley landscapes, along with a long list of idyllic locations.

Larry Mitchell has been a full-time artist since 1997 travelling to remote places around the world and exhibiting both nationally and internationally. His work is held in collections including Barings Bank London. Rupert Murdoch, Fremantle Art Centre and private collections in Australia, UK, USA, Europe and Japan.

Larry Mitchell’s “1 Degree Centigrade Project” has seen him document Island areas of the Indian Ocean as they are now, as he has seen the effects of globalisation and climate change in these areas and is using this project to spread environmental awareness.

Artist Biography

Australian Larry Mitchell Artist is a master at painting the ocean. His stunning seascape art works of the Abrolhos Islands are highly collectable, and in much demand, and is the series that many recognise Larry Mitchell for painting. Also well known for his incredible oil on canvas paintings of areas such as West Kimberley, WA; Papua New Guinea; Solomon Islands; Mentawies, Indonesia; Margaret River Region and the Antarctic. He has exhibited locally and nationally, his recent exhibition took him to the USA. JahRoc Galleries have been agents for Larry Mitchell paintings for over 13 years, and have arranged numerous commissions for customers who have requested a particular area/scene to be painted by Larry Mitchell.
