Western Australian Artist Simon Collins has had a long standing career well recognized for his figurative nudes and coastal landscapes. Having lived most of his artistic career in the South West of WA, Simon Collins skilfully captures the light and crisp colour palette of this region and delights his viewers with a result of realism. Simon is also well sought after for his charcoal nudes of which he has done many commissions.
Simon Collins is well known for his traditional figurative nudes and local South West landscape paintings. Simon’s paintings are incredibly real, his nudes are in perfect proportion and delivered with a soft mystique quality using charcoal as his preferred medium. Having spent most of his artistic career living in the South West of WA, Simon Collins captures this stunning coastline with conviction. His use of light in these works bring them to life giving the viewer a de-ja-vu experience, remembering moments they have seen before that Simon has skilfully put down on canvas. Simon Collins studied art at a prominent art college in London, The Harrow College of Art & Design, before moving to Australia to live.
Simon Collins has been exhibiting since 1994 and has held many solo and group exhibitions. In 2008 he was the Peoples Choice Winner for the Shire of Busselton “Signature South West” exhibition, and in 2009 & 2010 he won the Peoples Choice Award in the Vasse Art Exhibition.
