Designer 6’11” Fish Hall Table – In The Making

Marri Fish Hall Table In The Making 10

The design of this unique Hall Table took inspiration from Gary Bennett’s favourite surfboard at the time – a Jim Banks Fish. Since Gary designed and made the first Fish Hall Table it has been a really popular seller and has been made in many combinations of Jarrah, Marri, Sheoak and Blackbutt timbers. The light design and sensual curves makes for a funky designer piece of furniture, a design that is so obviously unique to JahRoc Furniture.

This design is an AWARD WINNER – 2011 FIAA WA award for “Excellence in furniture using Australian Native Timber”

David Paris, owner and partner in JahRoc Furniture thoroughly enjoyed the making process of this little beauty below, together with master craftsman Jagath Prasantha. After lots of time sifting through the timber stock, a really pretty selection of Marri Timber was chosen for the main body, Jarrah for the turned leg, with inlays of Sheoak and Jarrah.

See photos below of the making process of the Fish Hall Table from timber selection, drawing up the design, making and polishing.
