Artist Biography
Amilia Adams - Artist - Jewellery
Artist Statement
With over 20 years experience as a jeweller, Amilia Adams draws from nature as inspiration for her colourful jewellery. Growing up on a farm in country Victoria, Amilia uses images of Dragonflies, Flowers, Horses and many more. Using highly polished Silver or Gold as the motif which sits as a silhouette on the vividly coloured Titanium background, makes for beautiful pieces of wearable jewellery art. My childhood was spent in country Victoria living in a mud brick house built by my artist father on our bush block. The natural environment has provided the major motifs of my work and when possible I head away from the city to relax and recharge my inspiration. Many years in jewellery design and production has exposed me to a great variety of materials and techniques which excites me with their possibilities. In my recent work I am exploring the range of vivid colours resulting from heating Titanium. I enjoy combining this with highly polished silver and gold to evoke Australian fauna and flora whether it be the wings of dragon flies, gum leaves or the petals of a flower.Curriculum Vitae
