2011 Fire

Margaret River Fires – November 23rd 2011

Time heals…both nature and the human mind.

When the fire ripped through our 40 acre workshop property in November 2011, it took with it most of our timber collection – Marri Karri and Jarrah single slabs, Burls, Recycled Jarrah. All the special pieces we were hanging on to till the right job came up for it. Some of the pieces burnt were in our collection for 20 years waiting for the right job and the right customer.

Jahroc’s trusty old Dodge Truck couldn’t get away, neither the trailers. Our workshop building was on the lucky list thankfully, with the fire unsuccessfully trying to get in through the dust extractor system.

A few shots below show…

The old Dodge truck laid to rest in the bush happily rusting away with new growth finding its way through blending in to the surrounds . A relic of the past, a part of Jahroc Furniture history.

How thankful we can be that no-one was hurt in this ferocious fire, and may we use it as a reminder to give thanks for what we have.
