Shaun Atkinson received the Young Artist Award from the Western Australian Art Gallery in 1975 and has been exhibiting nationally and internationally ever since. He has travelled extensively living abroad in both Europe and Asia. His 2007 exhibition, ‘Margaret River Series’ incorporates gold and silver leaf combining an Asian sensibility within the atmospheric landscapes of his south-west home. Shaun has played an important role in the Western Australian arts community as a university lecturer and as a leading contemporary art practitioner. His work is represented in many collections including Curtin University, Parliament House, Kerry Stokes Collection and Edith Cowan University.
