Philippa Gordon

Philippa Gordon is a West Australian born Ceramist (Artist) creating contemporary artworks that emanate a sense of elegance and connection to the environment. Many of her pieces were born out of nostalgia for Japan, where Tokyo was home in her early twenties. With a strong sense for Japanese aesthetics and culture Philippa draws upon a reverence for nature and tradition, acknowledging three simple realities derived from the Buddhist assertion: nothing lasts, nothing is finished and nothing is permanent.

Philippa’s eclectic array of stoneware ceramic pieces are food safe, each piece being unique with impressed patterns and textures reminiscent of those seen in printed fabrics or papers.
