Matthew Ryan

Matt is a multi award winning Australian glass artist who started his career as a 13yr old indentured apprentice in a stained glass studio in Sydney Australia. He travelled to the UK to study medieval glass restoration and on his return to Australia designed and constructed a new glassblowing facility where he currently makes a production range and art glass. His beautiful and technically challenging work is inspired by structure and pattern in nature. He has been a finalist in the Ranamok Glass Prize, Willoughby Art Prize, Tom Malone Art Prize/WA Art Gallery and has exhibited at the Sydney Art Fair and Bathurst Regional Art Gallery. His work is held in collections in Australia and the UK.
