Nick was born on the Greek Island of Rhodes and at the age of eight moved with his family to Perth Western Australia. His rich textural paintings of various species of flowers that incorporate vibrant colours and gold or silver leaf are enjoyed immensely by art collectors. Early in Nick Economo's art career he created spectacular sculptures using clay depicting exotic water birds which then led him to work with bronze. His sculptures were well sought after, but he gradually moved his focus back to paintings which he predominantly focuses on today. Nick's work can be found in collections in Australia, Greece, Holland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, UK & USA.
