"Zummer Breeze"
Exhibition opening 15th January 2011
Runs till the 26th January
Di Taylor started her art career at the National Art School in Sydney at 17 and has been painting and exhibiting for 35years, this year she has seen solo exhibitions in Melbourne, Broome, Sydney, Margaret River, finalist in major art awards, culminating in the Love Angel Foundation exhibition at ‘Sunset’ in Perth...
The start of 2011 comes with a fresh vibrancy and the luxurious paint of our Margaret River landscapes. “I want the work to have all the excitement and passion that I feel when I’m swimming in the cool clean waters of Prevelly. I can’t get the paint down fast enough just like plunging into a reef crevasse or floating on a mêlée not knowing where the ocean stops and the sky begins”. This exhibition heralds the crisp colours of ‘Zummer’ with the ever changing movement of the ‘Breeze’ The enjoyment of every day, waiting for the cool relief to come and change the singing, noisy, still, heat of day to the perpetual flux of the afternoon tempest.
This is an indulgence in beautiful translucent turquoise and cerulean blues of the ocean, soft warm oranges and yellows of the evening sun and musty blue grey’s that brew on the horizon. The children run, swim, explore and become absorbed into the environment, as a reminder of the enjoyment to be had from the simplest things. A place where you can run, dig holes and immerse yourself in the colours of the waters of the south west.
