"Fusion" An exhibition of Fine Jewellery by
Gemma Baker and Larry Williamson

"Fusion" Bangle

Our latest Artistic Expression explores the challenging but rewarding boundaries of the unique semi precious metal TITANIUM. This metal offers strength and durability and offers the opportunity of being any colour of the rainbow or gray and blackish. The limitations of being unable to be soldered opens challenging methods of attachment like riveting, tension setting and threading. Gemma and Larry have worked the Titanium with 18ct and 9ct Gold, Sterling Silver, Diamonds, Coloured Gem Stones, and feature rare and unique Black Lipped Pearls from the Abrolhos Islands. The natural colours of the pearls have a strangely similar appearance to the coloured titanium creating an interesting collage, confusing our senses and stimulating our creative intelligence.

Gemma Baker combines her 'Ancient Textile Technique' of French Knitting Fine Silver and 18ct Gold with some exquisite Circle Pearls and Keshi Pearls so brightly coloured with trickles of Titanium into delicate and sometimes bold bracelets, anklets, necklaces and bangles.

Larry Williamsonhas taken a slightly 'Androgynous' approach, daring to explore the realm of 'Handmade Chain Making' unrevealing neck chains, bangles, bracelets and pendants with twists and tiles of Titanium, Gold and Silver and a prominent Pearl here and there.

The 'Fusion' Collection has evolved from a combined effort of two highly motivated and innovative Jewellers. Larry Williamson, internationally renowned Master Jeweller of more than 30 years and Gemma Baker, 4th generation Jeweller and Jewellery Designer. As a team with styles complimenting one another, this Collection is able to intrigue connoisseurs wide and broad a field.

The desire to own a piece for yourself may become too overwhelming…..just say yes!
