Kay Gibson
Born Perth WA 1956
Artist's Profile
Kay Gibson's paintings mainly deal with the textures, colours and forms of the local flora and fauna close to her home in Margaret River. She gained a passion for the natural environment growing up with parents who loved to travel throughout Western Australia bird watching and bushwalking.
For her latest work depicting indigenous birds of the local area she has referenced books written by her late uncle Glen Storr who was curator of vertebrae at the WA Museum for many years. Kay's paintings intend to portray some of the unique characteristics of birds and their relationship to the environment.
