In 2007 - 2008 which was the bulk of my inspiration for this exhibition, has seen me painting on a farm in the farming district in Victoria; also in a painting trip to the top end, Broome, Halls Creek, and all the way inbetween. In November I took a few days leave to revisit the gold mining places of my earlier travels around Paynes Find in WA. I have even ventured out to explore the inner desert fringe of NSW earlier this year, in places such as Broken Hill, White Cliffs and Lake Mungo, which I find vastly different to WA desert country.
The landscapes in this exhibition are a combination of all these experiences and other landscapes and environments that I have travelled to or found myself in, during my sleeping dreams or my dreaming wakefulness, or somewhere in between. Some of these are the quiet corners in nature which the Earth Mother fills with the wondrous bounty of life and beauty.
